So that our knowledge of regional dialects in the uk can grow we would love it if you left a comment informing us of a phrase we have missed out or that you think should be up here!</p>
<p>For those that don&#8217;t know this phrase, it originates from the Midlands, particularly areas in and around Derby and Nottingham, commonly used in Ilkeston and West Hallam regions.The phrase is simply a greeting, with Duck or duckie roughly translating as mate or friend. Another version of greeting in this way is &#8216;Alright Duckie!?&#8217;</p>
