For those that don’t know this phrase, it originates from the Midlands, particularly areas in and around Derby and Nottingham, commonly used in Ilkeston and West Hallam regions.The phrase is simply a greeting, with Duck or duckie roughly translating as mate or friend. Another version of greeting in this way is ‘Alright Duckie!?’

Ok we are well aware that this phrase is not the only saying from cornwall, we know there is a whole wealth of language from the everyday cornsih slang to the revived cornish language – Kernow (very cool and exciting stuff).
